In 2010 I was allowed to use some empty display vitrines in a Greek museum on Alonissos to exhibit my extensive collection of old plate cameras, box cameras, miniature cameras, modern 35 mm SLR cameras and a number of early digital cameras. That along with accessories such as films, flash guns, rangefinders, light meters, filters, tripods, etc.
Over the years that I have been exhibited this photography collection, at least 20,000 visitors have shown their admiration. It was therefore a pity that in 2017 a possible expansion of the collection in a new room of the museum could not take place due to internal problems.
So at the moment the collection is in boxes and crates at my house waiting for a better future. Maybe you know a solution to this problem. I will be grateful for it. I assure you: if you provide an exhibition space for this material, success is assured.
On this site I wanted to explain my love for (analogue) photography and the story behind the people and the equipment that made its origins and further developments possible. And in retrospect, that turned out to be quite an extensive story. A story that is far from complete, as my collection of cameras and peripherals, my photo albums and advertising material still have to be housed there. All in all, I still have a lot of work to do.
But perhaps it is already worthwhile to publish the narrative content of this site in book form. It has also become a very complete story. In particular, the part regarding the producing companies is quite unique and very extensive. If a publisher is interested in publishing everything in book form, please let him or her contact me.
